On April 8, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense and Phu Tho province organized the inauguration of the relief “Uncle Ho talking to officers and soldiers of the Pioneer Army” at the intersection of Gieng Temple - Hung Kings’ Temple historical site.
The project of the relief “Uncle Ho talking to officers and soldiers of the Pioneer Army” was started on June 15, 2023, funded by the Ministry of National Defense with a total investment of 50.49 billion VND. The work includes 3 main items: Removing and disassembling the entire stone relief built in 2001 at the Military Region 2 Museum Yard; repairing and embellishing the new relief cast in copper alloy with an average thickness of 1.5cm; Creating a synchronous landscape infrastructure system of yards, gardens, lighting, and trees for the project to ensure aesthetics appropriate to the surrounding area.
On behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, General Phan Van Giang acknowledged, appreciated and welcomed the sense of responsibility, initiative, positivity, enthusiasm and thoughtfulness of Phu Tho province, Military Region 2, Hung Kings’ Temple historical relic site, members of the art council, contractors and related agencies and units during the process of construction, completion and putting the project into use on the occasion of the Hung Kings’ Death Anniversary - Hung Kings’ Temple Festival in the year of the Dragon 2024. This is also a meaningful project towards major anniversaries such as the 49th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and unification of the whole country; 70 years of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, 80 years of the founding of the Vietnam People’s Army and 35 years of the National Defense Festival.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Bui Van Quang affirmed: This is an important highlight in the journey of sacred destinations of Hung Kings’ Temple, creating synchronization with majestic and sacred architectural works, space and scenery of the relic site, converging historical and cultural values from the Hung Kings’ to the Ho Chi Minh’s era; meeting the needs of organizing political and cultural activities and being a place for compatriots, soldiers nationwide, and also our compatriots abroad to commemorate, express respect and gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh and predecessors. Phu Tho Province will continue to do a good job of managing, preserving and promoting the relief work in an effective and practical way, to ake it worthy of a cultural project with significance of educating patriotism, studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s moral example; the resilient and glorious revolutionary tradition of the Party and People’s Army of Vietnam.
After the inauguration ceremony, General Phan Van Giang, General Luong Cuong, Provincial Party Secretary Bui Minh Chau and delegates offered flowers at the relief of Uncle Ho talking to officers and soldiers of the Pioneer Army, and planted souvenir trees at Hung Kings’ Temple. Before that, delegates offered incense to pay tribute to the Hung Kings' merits at Kinh Thien Palace on the top of Nghia Linh mountain.
