On the morning of March 30, Mr. Tran Duy Dong, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, received and worked with Mr. Robert Yap, Executive Chairman of Singapore’s YCH Group, regarding the implementation of the Group’s logistics projects in the province.

Mr. Robert Yap noted that during a recent ASEAN business summit, the Group’s leadership was received by Vietnamese State and Party leaders, who highly valued the importance of the Vinh Phuc ICD Logistics Center currently under development. The Group highly appreciates the investment environment and cooperation opportunities in Vietnam and looks forward to continued support from provincial leaders to accelerate the project’s progress, thereby contributing to the province’s economic growth in 2026 and the following years.
During the meeting, Mr. Robert Yap updated the Chairman on the project’s status and proposed that the province speed up the land pricing process. He also requested support in promoting railway planning to connect with the Lao Cai – Hanoi – Hai Phong rail route, enabling the Inland Container Depot (ICD) to operate within a multimodal logistics chain encompassing rail, air, and sea transport.
Chairman Tran Duy Dong underscored the significance of the Vinh Phuc ICD Logistics Center for the province’s economic growth and the perfection of its logistics infrastructure. He stated: "The Central Government has set high requirements for localities, including Phu Tho, regarding double-digit growth. Therefore, developing modern infrastructure, particularly logistics, is crucial to attracting investors."
The Chairman highly praised YCH Group’s strategy for multimodal transport, which flexibly combines sea, air, road, and rail to optimize costs and time while enhancing business efficiency.
Regarding the enterprise’s proposals, Chairman Tran Duy Dong committed to directing relevant agencies to expedite the land pricing process and finalize related procedures to allow the Group to proceed with the next phases of the project.
He further affirmed that Phu Tho has integrated the transport connection from the project to the Lao Cai – Hanoi – Hai Phong railway into the provincial master plan. He encouraged YCH Group to continue researching the most optimal connection options to facilitate convenient transport and minimize cargo costs to Noi Bai International Airport and Hai Phong Port.
