On December 3rd, 2021, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Trong Tan received and worked with the delegation of the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Korean Business Association (KORCHAM) in Vietnam on the occasion of organization of the 1st Korean Language Contest - Phu Tho 2021

Attending the meeting were leaders of some departments and branches of the province.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Cho Han Deog - Director of KOICA expressed his pleasure to visit Phu Tho as well as for the warm welcome of the provincial leaders. He announced that the first Korean language contest in Phu Tho sponsored by KOICA was successfully held. Mr. Cho Han Deog hoped those contests would be continued to organize with his companionship. He would support in Korean language training, Korean scholarship programs for Phu Tho.
Thanks to 150 Korean enterprises investing in Phu Tho currently, Director of KOICA Cho Han Deog hoped that Phu Tho province would facilitate Korean investors in policies and procedures to develop their production and business. As the agency in charge of Korean ODA projects, KOICA will continue to research and prioritize investment projects and support from this capital source for Phu Tho province. Hopefully, there will be several meeting to exchange and propose new cooperation projects in the field of investment and socio-economic development in the province.

To overview the socio-economic development of Phu Tho province recently, Vice Chairman of the PPC emphasized that provincial achievement has been contributed by investment of Korean businesses. In particular, in the face of the complicated situation of the COVID-19 epidemic, Phu Tho province has received the support of Korean businesses in disease prevention.
Promoting cooperation in many fields such as investment, economy, culture and society over the past time, Vice Chairman of the PPC wished that in the coming time, KOICA would continue to be a bridge to promote friendly cooperation relations between the two countries through government grants; at the same time, creating favorable conditions to help Phu Tho province in maintaining and expanding cooperative relationships with Korean partners. Phu Tho is expanding industrial zones and clusters in the province with many advantages in traffic, infrastructure, and human resources. The provincial leaders hoped that KOICA and KORCHAM would continue to introduce potential investors to Phu Tho; to support in enhancing the quality of human resource training at the vocational college of Phu Tho province.

Vice Chairman of the PPC suggested KOICA to pay attention Phu Tho in training Korean language teachers, human resources at Phu Tho Vocational College as well as turning Viet Tri into a smart city in order to implement the project of building Viet Tri city into a festival city towards the roots. Hopefully, the friendly cooperation between Phu Tho and the Republic of Korea will develop in the future.
