Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam Bui Thanh Son held a working breakfast with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, and Thoongsavan Phomvihan Prak Sokhonn and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Laos on the morning of July 9, on the sidelines of the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The three ministers valued the meeting as a valuable opportunity to further advance cooperation among the three foreign ministries in particular and the three countries in general.
They agreed that trilateral cooperation is flourishing across all channels and levels, with trade cooperation emerging as a bright spot thanks to impressive growth rates. The ministers emphasised the need to further enhance transport infrastructure connectivity among the three nations, and to strengthen cooperation in culture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.
In a frank and open atmosphere, the ministers exchanged views on international and regional issues of shared concern, as well as matters related to bilateral and trilateral relations.
During the working breakfast, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son shared that Viet Nam will co-chair the upcoming Mekong-Japan and Mekong the Republic of Korea Foreign Ministers' Meetings. In this role, Viet Nam will actively encourage partner countries to boost cooperation and step up investment and business activities in Mekong countries, particularly in high-tech sectors and digital human resource development.
