Being a part the project "Improving housing, health, and disaster resilience of Yen Lap district, Phu Tho province" phase 2, from March 20th to 22nd, 2017, Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) in cooperation with Yen Lap District People's Committee, Phu Tho Department of Foreign Affairs and other relevant agencies welcomed volunteers from Seoul Guarantee Insurance Company (SGI), an largest guarantee organization of Korea having a branch in Vietnam, to directly build houses, in order to improve the living environment for miserable children in My Lung commune, Yen Lap district. Apart from Cam Khe and Tam Nong districts, this is the 3th district of Phu Tho province to be funded by HFHI. Total funding aid over the province reached nearly USD190 thousand.
35 people from SGI's charity group along with HFHI staff, engineers directly worked on mortar, wall and plasterings in three of seven households in the project. Old houses would be replaced by new, safe houses. On the program, the volunteers gave the households some gifts such as cotton blanket, rice cooker, and set of tables and chairs, school supplies.
Head of the volunteer delegation, Mr. Lee Dok Yong - Director of SGI said that thank to this activity, donors would better understand the living conditions of poor households. He hoped they would have a peaceful, happy life with the new houses. SGI would continue to carry out various charity activities, contributing to society for the development of the community.
