The diplomat made the statement at a meeting held in Ha Noi on July 19 with over 70 delegates from 20 countries and territories, who returned home to attend the sixth Global Forum for Young Vietnamese Intellectuals.
Hang suggested that their contributions can be made through various forms such as exchanging experiences, sharing technological know-how, connecting with foreign corporations and research institutions, or directly returning to Viet Nam to research, work, start businesses, and participate in important national projects.
She also expressed her hope that young Vietnamese intellectuals abroad will continue to promote solidarity, integrate well into their host societies, and act as bridges in fostering friendship between Viet Nam and the host countries.
She highly appreciated the initiative the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Youth Union in organising the forum, which has focused on practical content and discussion topics closely aligned with the country’s pressing issues.
She reaffirmed that the Party, the State, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) always highly value and pay deep attention to the Vietnamese community abroad, including overseas Vietnamese experts and young intellectuals.
She pledged that in the time ahead, the MOFA will coordinate with relevant ministries and sectors to create favourable frameworks, policies, and legal mechanisms to develop a working environment that is equal, open, and attractive to the expats, with full and modern facilities, and no distinction between public and private sectors to maximise the research and creative capacity of the overseas Vietnamese.
