A series of commemorative events were organised across France to mark the 135th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh by the Vietnamese Embassy in coordination with representative agencies, the Vietnamese community, and French friends.
On May 19, an incense offering ceremony was held at the Vietnamese Embassy in Paris, followed by a floral tribute at the statue of President Ho Chi Minh in Montreau Park, Montreuil, an emblematic site celebrating his enduring legacy.
During a visit to the “Ho Chi Minh Space” at the Living History Museum (Musée de l’Histoire Vivante) in Montreuil, Yann Leroy, member of the Montreuil City Council, reflected on the late President’s lasting impact, describing him as a symbol of unity and a reminder that a better world is built through solidarity.

Earlier, on May 16, the commemorative programme began with a visit to Sainte-Adresse, where President Ho Chi Minh once lived and worked. At a wreath-laying ceremony there, Vietnamese Ambassador to France Dinh Toan Thang hailed President Ho Chi Minh as a powerful symbol of Viet Nam’s resilient spirit and a global advocate for peace and national independence.
Deputy Mayor of Sainte-Adresse Luc Lefèvre highlighted Viet Nam’s rising international stature, noting its strong education system, dynamic growth, and its position as a leading economy in Southeast Asia.
The official celebration on May 18 at the Viet Nam Cultural Centre in France drew a large number of attendees, including overseas Vietnamese and local friends.
Ambassador Nguyen Thi Van Anh, Permanent Representative of Viet Nam to UNESCO, emphasised that the commemoration served as a meaningful occasion to honour President Ho Chi Minh’s profound contributions to Viet Nam’s independence and reunification, and to reflect on his lasting legacy in the world.
The event featured valuable archival footage and artistic performances by Vietnamese students and cultural artists, fostering pride and a deep sense of cultural connection among participants.
